Down the stretch of Hiland’s journey to the Div. IV state final four, the Hawks have gotten big play from their player in the paint. He has been that guy. Junior Alex Yoder scored a team-high 20 points against Northside Christian in the regional final comeback win and also pulled down five rebounds. In the memorable win, Yoder made some key plays on both offense and defense and helped Hiland reach their 13th state final four in the program’s illustrious history.
Yoder was the catalyst early in the fourth quarter against Northside, scoring 10 points in a dynamic surge to draw the Hawks close enough to ultimately snatch the ‘W’ away from the Lions.
